Description
ADHD can be seen as a disorder, but also as a pattern of neurodiversity. Some of its symptoms are difficulties concentrating, a tendency to jump from one thing to another, low resistance to frustration, restlessness and distractibility. People with ADHD often experience huge amounts of frustration, as they know they are intelligent, capable, they have great ideas but still, they frequently don't reach their full potential due to their difficulties with distractibility, motivation and keeping their focus on one project. In this course, you will gain a deeper understanding of ADHD. and about what you can do to make your ADHD work to your advantage. You will see that the difficulties you are experiencing are shared by other students with ADHD. Most importantly, you will learn that being neurodiverse is totally compatible with being academically successful. What is more, there are certain insights that your neurodiversity will make possible. You will learn both very specific techniques for academic success as well as broader coaching-style ideas that can help you in the long run. This course is taught by a specialist skills tutor working with university students who have ADHD, with or without dyslexia. All the information offered here comes directly from academic sources or from strategies that I have implemented both in my own life and in my study skills sessions. All the techniques you will learn have been praised by students with ADHD who are currently studying at top universities in the North West of England.
